The final contest of the 16th “China Cup” International Ladies’ wear Design Contest was held in Fashion Show Hall of China textile city yesterday afternoon. 124 suits of dresses of 31 groups around the country were shown by models on the spot. 11 famous domestic and foreign authorities in the design circle gave the scores, and the result was released. Che Xiaojun of Miluo Design Studio in Creative Building of our county won the silver prize.
Li Luer vice president of Shaoxing Municipal Political Consultative Conference, Huang Wengang the standing committee member of Shaoxing County and the head of Organization Department, zhu Jianming the standing committee member of Shaoxing County, Zhou Shusen vice mayor, and Xing Bosheng vice president of Shaoxing County Political Consultative Conference conferred the award to contestants.
The contest strides to the industrial base
To make breakthrough for the contest by relying on the industry is the most remarkable feature of this contest. This “China Cup” contest is the first time that the contest was held out of Shanghai in 16 years. It truly combined with the industry in Keqiao.
As the undertaker of the contest, the responsible person of Shaoxing Textile and Clothing Designers Association said, to introduce this contest is to upgrade the traditional industry by innovation and to increase the additional value of products by design via the popular “China Cup”. As the largest professional textile market in Asia, the daily average flow of customers is up to a hundred thousands, a quarter of chemical fabric trade on the globe is done here, and nearly a half of textile enterprises in the country are in Keqiao. All these appeal the eyes of every people in the fashion circle.
A local designer first stood on the podium
Che Xiaojun of Miluo Design Studio in Creative Building of our county, though staying in Keqiao for less than a half of a year, won the silver prize of ladies’ wear design. He was so delighted at it. His teacher—Wang Changhong, chief director of Miluo Design Studio and gold prize winner of “China Cup” men’s wear design also felt happy for it. Zhou Hongyang, the boss of Keiqo Dimo Textile Corporation watched the show. He congratulated them on winning the prize, and expressed that he wanted to realize the convention from fabrics to garments in order to increase products’ additional value by using the designs of designers.
“Despite that there have no enough enterprises wanting to increase the additional value of products by creative designs, more and more textile and clothing companies have realized that the design is a kind of productivity. Designers can tap out their great potential here.” Said Wang Changhong.
Fabric companies need more growth points
As to the visitors, except the people in the fashion circle, most of them are from the local textile manufacturers and trading companies. Xu Hong of Shaoxing County Foreign Service Center told to the reporter that she had invited more than 40 fabric companies’ CEOs and foreign customers, many of them were saving the energy privately and preparing to stride into the clothing industry.
Zhang Lingli, a famous Chinese clothing designer and a medal winner, was one of the judges. She told to the reporter that many well-known garment brands in the world started from dealing in fabrics. Enterprises can try to have many growth points. Once in a crisis companies can keep growing for different products. When asked about how textile enterprises “change fabrics to clothes”, Zhang Lingli gave two important suggestions: companies should not only focus on the design but also explore sales channels, especially the domestic channels. She suggested that the government should give some support and set good examples to lead companies to upgrade wholly.
