This is a piece of good news from "China-Chile Free Trade Agreement’s Supplementary Agreement on Trade in Service, " ("Agreement" ). It will attract more and more textile companies of our county to make fortune in Chile.

According to the statistics on the exports to Chile within the seven months, Shaoxing Inspection and Quarantine Bureau issued 1481 copies of the certificate of origin for the export to Chile, the visa amount reached 54 million U.S. dollars, up 40% year on year, in which Shaoxing county accounted for 40%, mainly in textile products.

As it is introduced, the import tariff of 74% of Chilean products will be reduced to zero when the agreement takes effect, and the import tariff of other items will drop to zero within five and ten years when the agreement is implemented. The two parties will only retain 3% of items as the exceptional products and keep the existing tariff unchanged.

"The main products that Shaoxing export to Chile are textile products. Compared with the high tariff implemented before the free trade agreement, the tariff undertaken by the local importers will be eased greatly.” said the related person of Shaoxing Inspection and Quarantine Bureau. According to the report, the consumption level of Chile is nearly the same as China. The daily-use consumer goods mainly rely on the import. As the threshold of Chilean tariff lowers gradually, Shaoxing’s textile export to Chile rises rapidly in these years. From Jan. to July, the export value to Chile is up to 58 million U.S. dollars, up by 55.5% year on year. Chile is becoming one of the key export market of our county.

Use it as a Springboard for Radiating to South America

Now, about 80% of textile products are exported to South America via this outlet. “Chile is a county having the longest coastline in South America countries.
