100 Farmers Reading Rooms to Be Available in Shaoxing County

According to the relevant division, farmers will be able to get more cultural information nearby their homes in the near future.
Resulting from some government divisions' deployment and requirement, besides the library of cultural village and moving librarys in progress, almost 100 farmers reading rooms will be established in Shaoxing County.
In purpose of satisfying farmers' cultural needs, established in administrative villages, managed by farmers, farmers' reading rooms supporting practical books, newspapers and periodicals, AV products and electronic products for farmers are non-profit cultural service undertakings, and their investments are from the government. The establishment of farmers' reading rooms is raised by General State Administration of Press and Publication with the aim of solving the problem of “difficulty in buying, borrowing and reading books”. By establishing the reading rooms managed by farmers and farmers' self-help reading organization, farmers are able to learn and get information, and the reading books will be promoted among farmers too.
Farmers reading rooms will be established in the library of village or farmers' homes, and according to the principle, the practical books will hit not less than 1,000 and 30 newspapers , AV products and electronic products 100. Within the possible areas, publications including e-books, e-newspapers, e-periodicals are permitted to be added. The controlled release system of “supporting books, reading books, managing books and using books” will be established progressively after the development of 5-10 years.
According to Shaoxing County Culture and Broadcasting Bureau, based on the requirements of Zhejiang Province Press and Publication Bureau, 21 villages (farmers) applying for farmers reading rooms have been definited this March, and they are on the way of examination and endorsement.
According to some relevant person, 100 farmers reading rooms in first level cultural villages of Shaoxing county will be established in 2010, and not less than 400 books will be deployed in each reading room.
