On Oct. 1, 1988, Shaoxing Textile Market was located in Dongsheng Road and opened, with a turnover of 76 million yuan. By the second half of 1989, the market had more than 450 enterprises from across the country to set up the gate department.

On January 8, 1992, the East Trading area was completed and opened, with a construction area of 33500 square meters, including 1020 doors and markets, and became the largest wholesale textile market in China. In June of the same year, the East Trading area changed its name to "China Textile City."

On April 28, 1994, "Keqiao Economic Development Zone, Shaoxing County, Zhejiang Province" was held, and the north market of China Textile City was officially opened.

In February 1997, "textile city" A shares listed in the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

Time flies by. In 2011, Shaoxing County launched the construction of an online textile city and actively explored a "market Internet" model based on the real market. In 2016, the total turnover of "online and offline" transactions in China Light and Textile City exceeded 170 billion yuan. It reaches 172.49 billion yuan.
