In October 1949, the administrative area of Shaoxing was divided into Huiji County and Shaoxing County, Huiji County resident Jinkeqiao County, Shaoxing County resident Jinke Bridge. In 1954, Keqiao Town became one of the three direct subordinate towns of Shaoxing County (the other two are Anchang Town and Dongguan Town). After the third Plenary session of the Eleventh Central Committee, Shaoxing County at that time began to focus on the development of light industry, and the production of textile fabrics relied on thousands of people to supply salesmen, carrying forward the "four thousand spirit" of "thousands of hardships, make every attempt, thousands of mountains and thousands of words." By 1984, there had been "100 meters of cloth Street" in the ancient town of Keqiao, carrying either merchant or cloth on board the boat.

In July 1985, the Shaoxing County Bureau of Industry and Commerce, with the support of the government of Keqiao Town, built the "Keqiao Textile products Market", with 77 outlets and 89 stalls. The textile industry officially rose.
