Nowadays, the deficiency of professional interpreters has been a big problem for China Textile City where more and more foreigners come for business. Because the 2011 China Keqiao International Textile Exposition (Autumn) will be held in China Textile City next month, Shaoxing County Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office is in the process of setting up the Translation Association.
“We have always asked for students from Shaoxing University, Zhejiang Yuexiu University of Foreign Languages to serve as volunteer interpreters during the previous textile expositions,” said deputy director Lou Hongxia, a few days ago. Those students undertook a large amount of hard work, however, they couldn’t express accurately when interpreting some textile jargons. Therefore, Shaoxing County Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office planned to gather some professional interpreters from some foreign trade companies in China Textile City and to build a translation association, serving for the large scale expositions etc.
“We are in great favor of establishing translation association,” said Zhang Hongguang, the GM of Shaoxing County Rushang Import and Export Company. “I will dispatch some interpreters in my company to participate the translation association.
According to the correspondent, Shaoxing County Translation Association will undertake various services from exposition preparation, information distribution to temporary interpretation.(By Qi Xiaoning)
