CTEI: China��s underwear sales has reached 100 billion yuan now, with an annual pace of growth about 20%, according to the recent released report from China National Textile & Apparel Council at the Press Conference of first China International Underwear Culture Week in Beijing. While there are still some problems in this industry, such as weak brands and outdated supporting sections.
Based on this report, the underwear industry made a quick progress in recent years. The manufacturer numbers reach nearly 10,000 and they are mainly located in Pearl River Delta Region and Yangze River Delta Region. Those regions had also become one of the underwear manufacturing centers over the world.
"Improving the product design, quickening the sales channel construction, and building brands are the major strategic missions for this industry." Wang Tian Kai, the Vice President of CNTAC said in the openning ceremony. The first China International Underwear Culture Week is going to hold from 2011 May 20th to 26th in Shenzhen. It aims at promoting the underwear design and R&D in China.
